Payment & Refund Policy

Note: All details are subject to reasonable change.

LTi Payment and Refund Policy

1. Payment is required at the time of enrolment.

2. Payment plan installments are only available via direct debit from your nominated account or card. Missing two (2) consecutive payments will result in your enrolment being suspended. Students whose enrolment has been suspended due to declined payments, and who have missed more than two (2) consecutive payments, are required to settle all outstanding payments before their enrolment can be reinstated.

3. If
quarterly, six-monthly or annual payments are overdue by more than one month, your enrolment will be suspended. To reinstate your enrolment, all outstanding payments must be settled in full.

4. A certificate will not be issued until all payments are made in full.

5. There is no refund for any payment once it is made.

6. If a student does not complete their course within their allocated enrolment period, then they will be required to pay a fee to extend their enrolment.

7. Students can withdraw at any time without making further payment.

8. A financial credit towards re-enrolment is available to online distance students who withdraw, then re-enrol within 6 months. If a student re-enrols, they will resume study with the same amount of time allowed to complete the course as was the case when they withdrew (i.e. any remaining time left on enrolment will be carried over). In some cases, students may be required to apply for an extension when re-enrolling.

9. Where a student makes payment and chooses to withdraw before commencing enrolment, then LTi will retain a $400 portion of student fees or the total fees paid to date (if lesser than $400) to recompense for establishing enrolment records, student account keeping, issuing electronic resources, staff planning and allocation, etc.

Possible Additional Fees

Extension Fee
If a student does not complete their course within their allocated enrolment period, then they will be required to pay a fee to extend their enrolment. The end of study date varies for each class location depending on the duration and intensity of the course. The end of study date is specified on:
  • the relevant class information page (i.e. Distance Online Learning page or one of the Course Locations pages) AND
  • your Confirmation of Enrolment email

If you are unsure of your close of study date, please contact LTi.

If for any reason an extension is required, you can apply for one by completing the Extension Request Form. Switching from full-time to part-time is free, however, if you need more time beyond the part-time duration then an extension fee will apply.  See the Extension Request Form for current extension fees and please note that extension fees may be subject to reasonable increase in future*.

OPTIONAL: Printed Resources
Your course fee includes an e-copy of TESOL Made Practical For All Situations (ISBN: 978-0-9871861-1-9) and access to the TESOL Online Student System (TOSS). Printed resources are available for optional purchase if a student prefers to have hard copy resources. Please see the TESOL Resources page for pricing and ordering information.

Document Reissue Fee
A Document Reissue fee of $99 will apply in the event that a student requests the reissue of a Certificate, or Competency Transcript, or Statement of Attainment issued by LTi that they had previously received. To request for your Certificate to be reissued, please complete the Certificate Reissue Request Form.

Find Your Own Placement Discount – Conditions of Eligibility

Students who arrange their own practical placement may be eligible for a discount on their course fees, depending on the level of the course. To qualify for this discount, the following conditions must be met:

  • The placement must involve a class of at least three (3) students learning English as a Second Language (ESL).
  • The student must be supervised by a TESOL qualified teacher* with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant TESOL experience, who is able to provide feedback on the student’s teaching practice.
  • All self-arranged placements must be approved by LTi prior to the start of placement.
  • This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other fee reduction offer, unless explicitly stated by LTi.
*For full practical placement requirements, please refer to the Practical Placement Information page.

Course fee calculation

The Course Fee will vary depending on factors such as:
  • Distance education or class delivery format
  • Location of the course, if the course involves class delivery format
  • Special promotional offers

The types of Payment Plans offered, and the Refund Policy associated with these Payment Plans, will also vary. Students are therefore advised to ensure that they are familiar with the specific Payment and Refund Information for their particular Course and mode of study prior to enrolling.

For any questions regarding our Payment and Refund Policy, please email [email protected] before you enrol.

Students may be eligible for Centrelink support payments such as Austudy, Abstudy, Youth Allowance and / or Pensioner Education Supplement payments. We recommend enquiring directly with the Department of Human Services about eligibility and payment amounts. Please note that this information applies only to the Certificate IV level TESOL course and generally you need to choose the full-time option when enrolling.
