Entry Requirements
It is important that you have an adequate level of written and spoken English ability. This is not only so that you have the skills to complete the course, but also so that you can be a successful English as a Second Language teacher.
The entry requirements and English proficiency evidence varies depending on the level of TESOL Course you are looking at enroling into. If you are unable to provide the below entry evidence, then you may be able to complete free English proficiency testing. Please contact us to discuss your options. |
PREPARATORY OR INTERNATIONAL CERT LEVELS
It is important that you have an good level of written and spoken English skills. This is not only so that you have the ability to complete the course, but also so that you can be a successful English as a Second Language teacher. PREPARATORY CERTIFICATE: While there are no mandatory entry requirements for the Preparatory Certificate, it is recommended that you can confidently and fluently read, write, speak and understand English before enrolling. If you struggle with any of these skills then you may want to do an English Course before undertaking this TESOL Course. INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE: In order for you to gain entry into the International Certificate, you must provide evidence showing ONE of the following:
CERT IV or Diploma LEVELS
When you enrol, we will ask that you to participate in an Entry Skills Test. The Entry Skills Test will involve a multiple choice quiz designed to evaluate your readiness for the study by assessing key skills in language proficiency, digital literacy, numeracy, and cognitive reasoning. Most people who passed Year 12 (senior secondary school) will be able to acheive a pass result in the Entry Skills Test. In addition to the Entry Skills Test, you must also provide evidence showing ONE of the following:
GRADUATE LEVELS
A degree or significant industry experience with a lower level TESOL qualification is required for entry into the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. When you enrol, we will ask that you to participate in an Entry Skills Test. The Entry Skills Test will involve a multiple choice quiz designed to evaluate your readiness for the study by assessing key skills in language proficiency, digital literacy, numeracy, and cognitive reasoning. Technology Recommendations
The TESOL Courses are online courses and you will need a computer or device with internet access in order to complete it. The course will require you to download, read and complete documents (in either PDF or Word format).

If you complete your placement via online classess, then you will also need to be able to participate in video conferencing with a camera and microphone. If you do not already have access to the above technology then you may find that it may be available through your local library. |
