Recommended Entry Requirements

It is important that you have an good level of written and spoken English skills. This is not only so that you have the ability to complete the course, but also so that you can be a successful English as a Second Language teacher.

It is recommended that you can confidently and fluently read, write, speak and understand English before enrolling. If you struggle with any of these skills then you may want to do an English Course before undertaking this TESOL Course.

As a guide, a person would have sufficient English skills if they have:

Completed Year 12 English at a pass level or higher (in Australia)
Completion of other studies (Cert III or higher) delivered in English
Achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent on an endorsed English test
