Stepping into English

Learning the basics of English can be hard.  For many people, it has been a stumbling block to working or studying.  But we have a resource to help!

Stepping into English Stepping into English is a Pre-level 1 Book for ESL based on the ACSF curriculum. It is a two-book course that covers the basics of English.  From reading, writing, speaking and listening, you will cover everything from how to read and fill out important forms to money values and shopping transactions. With lessons in greetings, rhyming words, basic maths, and things encountered in daily life, students will be well equipped for their next steps in working or studying. It can be completed at your own pace and is great for a classroom environment or one-on-one tutoring.

Stepping into English can be used as a learning tool in conjunction with The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). ACSF is a comprehensive tool designed to assist both specialist and non-specialist English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) practitioners describe an individual’s performance in the five core skills of learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy. It provides a consistent national approach to identifying and developing the core skills in three diverse contexts; personal and community; workplace and employment; and education and training.
