Course Duration and Study Hours
Regardless of the face to face classes schedule (outlined above) there is no prescribed (or "set" or "fixed") schedule for the completion of the Course assessment. The trainer may strongly recommend that students complete the assessment in keeping with the progress of the classes through the Course material (Unit by Unit), but the student can decide according to their own needs or requirements which might be influenced by factors such as:
In the past, some highly motivated students with excellent reading and writing skills have worked intensively to complete the Certificate IV assessment requirements within 4 to 6 weeks. Other students have progressed strongly to get it done in 3 to 6 months. Still others have worked hard and taken 6 to 9 months, or a year or two.
Unless otherwise stated in any specific Course information, LTi allows students the following maximum time to complete the Courses:
Full Time vs Part Time
Students can choose to be "Full Time" or "Part Time". However, there is no additional fee for changing from Full Time to Part Time. Also, a Part Time student may finish the Course as quickly as a Full Time student without being disadvantaged in any way.
Based on the official hours allocated to these Australian Government accredited Courses, the time frames give below apply to the completion of the Courses. These time frames apply regardless of how long any period of face to face class attendance continues.
Please note that students may complete the Course learning and assessment requirements in more or less time due to their ability, motivation, and many other considerations including personal choice or circumstances (as outlined above):
10695NAT - Certificate IV in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages):
Full-time: 12 months allowing 12 - 15 hours per week
Part-time: 24 months allowing 6 - 8 hours per week
10688NAT - Diploma of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages):
Full-time: 18 months allowing 15 - 20 hours per week
Part-time: 30 months allowing 10 - 12 hours per week
Face to Face Class Benefits

- motivation to finish the Course quickly
