In Australia, NEAS is the industry body, whose primary goal is maintaining high levels of quality in the provision of English Language Teaching (ELT) programs and services by ELT centres. NEAS stands for: National ELT Accreditation Scheme.

The purpose of the scheme is:

• to set standards of quality in the provision of ELT programs and related services
• to provide a professional judgment as to whether ELT centres meet and continue to meet those standards
